About Me
Meet the Teach’
Hey! I'm Ms. C, the founder of My Fav Teacher, and your dedicated English Language Arts tutor. I'm passionate about helping middle school students unlock their potential and master essential English skills that will serve them throughout their academic journey and beyond.
As a certified ELA teacher, I bring ten years of experience in the educational field. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Spelman College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Thomas University with a specialization in Middle Grades English Language Arts. I have taught at several esteemed institutions, honing my teaching methodologies and deepening my understanding of student needs.
Throughout my career, I've realized the importance of personalized instruction, which has led me to start this tutoring business. I'm committed to getting to know each student, tailoring my approach to their unique learning styles, and working collaboratively with them to achieve their goals.
In my classes, you'll find a balance of challenge and encouragement - I firmly believe in pushing my students to exceed their own expectations, but I also understand the value of a supportive, positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. The name My Fav Teacher was given to me by my students and I accept that title with joy and humility. It means a lot when students call you their favorite teacher.
A little about me personally, I lived in Japan for a couple years and being a part of the Japanese education system has taught me a lot in that I utilize diverse strategies and techniques for all types of students.
Whether we're exploring literature, developing writing skills, or tackling tricky grammar rules, my goal is to make learning engaging and meaningful for each of my students. I'm excited to guide your child on their learning journey, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in English Language Arts.

The Face of the Place
Heyyy Friends! I'm CiCi your animated guide through the exciting world of English Language Arts. I've been brought to life by Ms. C, a certified teacher with a passion for helping middle school students excel in English.
Just like Ms. C., I LOVE everything about English – from adventurous stories and mysterious poems to persuasive essays and confusing grammar puzzles. I'm here to make learning these things fun, interesting, and less daunting for your child.
You'll see me in all our recorded lessons, where I'll share handy tips, walk your kids through complex topics, and even take them on linguistic adventures. With me around, learning English will be anything but boring!
I work with Ms. C in her real classes every day and, not to brag, but we have a proven ability to connect with children, understand their needs, interests, and sense of humor. You won’t find any boring, repetitive, lesson modules over here. All of our activities have a personal touch and are designed to help your child love the subject and carry that newfound love into their classrooms at school. Perhaps that is why her school was ranked top 3 in the county for state assessments and she was selected as curriculum lead for the grade level at her school!

A Little More About Me:
Every student I have had the privilege to teach has become a part of who I am as an educator. I carry their questions, their insights, their triumphs and even their struggles within me. Every lesson I teach is enriched by a tapestry of experiences, each thread contributed by a different student I've journeyed with. As I have shaped their learning, they too have shaped me. Just as they've grown, they've inspired my growth. Thus, in every child I guide, I see the reflection of countless others who've walked through my classroom, for I am an amalgamation of all their incredible journeys.
Mini Classroom Tour
One of my greatest joys as a teacher is my classroom! I strive to create an environment where every child feels seen and valued. My students know how much I love to draw and so they always draw pictures for me. I am glad I inspire their creativity. At the end of every school year, I take the artwork down, glue it to poster boards, and laminate them. What started out as a few pictures on my back cabinet grew into a massive mural that covers every wall in my classroom!
